SEO, GEO and AEO in Morocco: found on Google, cited by AI

BrandHub handles SEO, GEO and AEO from Casablanca for companies doing business in Morocco: being found on Google and Google Maps, being cited by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and supplying the direct answer to customers' questions. For Google, “optimizing for generative AI search is optimizing for the search experience, and thus still SEO” (Google Search Central, 10 July 2026).

Customers no longer search in one place. They type a question into Google, compare businesses on Google Maps, read the AI Overview at the top of the results or ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity directly. These tools differ, but they rest on the same foundations: pages their crawlers can read, clear answers, facts with their source, a business identity that is consistent everywhere, and mentions on other websites. In other words, for Google, “optimizing for generative AI search is optimizing for the search experience, and thus still SEO” (Google Search Central, 10 July 2026). In Morocco there is one more layer: the same need is searched in French, in Arabic and in Darija, and sometimes in English. BrandHub works on these foundations for companies doing business in Morocco, in French and Arabic, in the order set by the audit. BrandHub commits to what it can deliver: the work and the measurements written into the proposal, which you can check. Never a position: nobody controls Google's rankings or what AI assistants say.

What are SEO, GEO and AEO?

SEO, GEO and AEO are three ways of being chosen when a customer searches: appearing in Google and Bing results, being cited in answers generated by AI, and supplying the direct answer a search engine displays or reads aloud. BrandHub works on all three together, on the same pages.

  • SEO (search engine optimisation) is the work that gets a business found in Google and Bing results and on Google Maps.
  • GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the work that gets a business cited in answers generated by ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode.
  • AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is the work that wins the direct answer: featured snippets, People Also Ask and voice answers.
  • Local SEO is the part of SEO devoted to the Google Business Profile and Google Maps: it is the only name used here for visibility on the map.

Where can a business appear when a customer searches?

A business can appear in four places when a customer searches: Google's results, Google Maps, AI assistants' answers and the direct answer a search engine displays or reads aloud. BrandHub aims for all four with the same pages, without promising any position; the illustration shows three of them for a single question.

  1. In Google's results

Pages that crawlers read without JavaScript, each answering one precise question your customers ask, in French or Arabic: that is SEO.

  2. On Google Maps

Your map listing shows people searching nearby your reviews, directions and a call button: that is local SEO.

  3. In AI answers

Clear answers, sourced facts and mentions of your business on other websites, so that ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity can cite it: that is GEO.

  4. In the direct answer

A short answer at the top of each section, which Google can use in featured snippets, People Also Ask and voice answers: that is AEO.

Is SEO still enough now that people ask ChatGPT or read AI Overviews?

For Google, in principle, yes: Google does not require any special AI file to appear in its generative AI features (Google Search Central, 10 July 2026). AI assistants have their own crawlers, though, and they need pages readable without JavaScript, clearly stated answers, sourced facts and mentions of the brand on other websites.

  • Pages readable without JavaScript: the text is in the page's code, without waiting for a script to display it.
  • Clearly stated answers: each question gets a direct answer in the first lines of its section.
  • Sourced facts: every figure is dated and linked to its source, so that an assistant can reuse it.
  • Mentions of the brand elsewhere: directories, articles, reviews and profiles that cite your business with the same details.

How do people in Morocco search: French, Arabic, Darija or English?

People in Morocco search in several languages, often for the same need: in French, in Arabic, and in Darija (Moroccan Arabic) typed in Latin or Arabic letters. English matters for some audiences. So BrandHub builds the list of real customer questions language by language, before deciding which pages to write.

Each language gets its own pages, written natively for its reader and linked to the others by hreflang tags, so that Google shows the right version to the right person. A foreign company that only publishes in English is invisible to most of these searches.

Darija questions are tracked too, because that is how many customers type or speak them; the pages answer them in standard French or Arabic.

How does BrandHub run SEO, GEO and AEO work?

BrandHub applies one method to SEO, GEO and AEO, in six steps repeated each month. The first steps fix what stops the site from being read; the next build the answers, the local reputation and the mentions; the last measures what has moved and sets the next month's priorities.

  1. Audit

The technical state of the site and the list of real questions your customers ask, on Google and in AI assistants.

  2. Technical fixes

Indexing, speed, tags, structured data and anything else that stops a crawler from reading your pages.

  3. Pages that answer

Pages and sections that each answer one precise question, illustrated with your own photos and video where they exist.

  4. Google Business Profile and reviews

A complete business profile, identical contact details everywhere, and reviews requested from your real customers.

  5. Mentions and directories

Your business listed with the same information in the directories and on the websites that count in your sector.

  6. Regular measurement

The tracked questions, positions, citations in AI assistants and impressions in Google Search Console.

How is visibility in AI answers measured?

Visibility in AI answers is measured with a fixed list of real customer questions, put to Google and to AI assistants at the frequency written into the proposal. At each check, BrandHub records who is cited, which page provides the answer and where your business stands against others.

  • The tracked questions, in French, Arabic and Darija.
  • The position and the snippet shown on Google for each question.
  • Cited or not in each assistant: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews.
  • The competing businesses named in the answers.
  • Impressions and real searches in Google Search Console.

How much does SEO cost in Morocco?

SEO is monthly work, priced on quote after the free diagnostic: the price depends on what needs building and on the competition in your sector. Five factors move it: the pages to create or rewrite, the competition, the number of languages, local SEO and the length of the engagement.

Pricing Priced on quote, after the free diagnostic

What changes the price of SEO, GEO and AEO
FactorEffect on the price
Pages to create or rewriteEach page that answers a question needs research, writing and a careful launch.
Competition in the sectorThe more businesses already visible and active on your questions, the more work is needed.
Number of languagesFrench and Arabic each need their own pages and their own tracking.
Local SEOThe Google Business Profile, reviews and consistent contact details, for businesses with local customers.
Length of the engagementThe number of months of work and measurement set out in the proposal.

SEO is part of digital growth. The free diagnostic tells you whether it is your company's priority, or whether a new website or Google and Meta ads should come first.

When do SEO results show?

Technical fixes and page indexing show within weeks; visits, a place on Google Maps and citations in AI answers build up over several months. Regular measurement shows the direction from the start, and BrandHub promises neither a timeframe nor a position, because neither depends on BrandHub alone.

The first check is the baseline: every later check is compared with it, question by question, so that you see what is moving and what has not moved yet.

Can you promise first place on Google?

No. Nobody controls Google's rankings or what AI assistants answer: promising a position is selling luck. BrandHub commits to the work and the tracking written into the proposal, with measurements you can check yourself in Google Search Console.

Do we need an llms.txt file to appear in AI answers?

Not for Google: Google does not require any special AI file to appear in its generative AI features (Google Search Central, 10 July 2026). BrandHub still publishes an llms.txt file on the sites it builds, because it costs nothing and some tools read it.

Is local SEO on Google Maps included?

Yes, for businesses with local customers: the Google Business Profile, reviews and identical contact details everywhere are part of the work. BrandHub calls this local SEO, and tracks it alongside the rest of your visibility.

Can our current website be optimised?

Often, yes. The audit says whether fixing the site costs less than rebuilding it. A site whose text is injected by JavaScript is usually rebuilt, because that text is missing from the code most AI crawlers read; in that case, website design takes over. For a first look, send the address from the contact page.

Why write pages in Arabic and French rather than only in English?

Because most customers in Morocco search in French or Arabic, on Google and in AI assistants alike. Pages written natively in each language answer those searches with the words people use. Each language has its own address, linked to the others by hreflang tags.

Why give BrandHub access to Google Search Console?

Google Search Console is Google's free tool that shows your site's real searches, impressions and indexing problems. Read access lets BrandHub set the priorities of the work: the pages to strengthen, the searches to target and the errors to fix first.

Can ChatGPT name our company when someone asks about our sector?

Yes, if the web gives it reasons to: clear pages, identical information everywhere, and mentions and reviews on other websites. BrandHub regularly checks whether your company's name appears in the answers of ChatGPT and the other assistants for your customers' questions.

Can we work with BrandHub in English from outside Morocco?

Yes. BrandHub replies in French and Arabic, and also in English, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Italian, and BrandHub also works remotely for companies based outside Morocco. Questions about the proposal, the tracked searches and the measurements are answered in writing, so a marketing team abroad can follow its visibility in Morocco without being in Casablanca.
